These Terms of Sale govern the contractual relationship between Mathieu Temey, a French sole trader operating under the trade name Prosapia (SIRET 881 044 648 00031), hereinafter "the Provider", and any individual or legal entity, hereinafter "the Client", ordering a genealogical research service via the prosapia.fr website or by any other means of distance communication.
Any order implies unconditional acceptance of these Terms of Sale, which take precedence over any other document provided by the Client.
The Provider offers the following packages:

Stated timelines are indicative, provided after an initial exchange with the Client, and take into account the availability and condition of the relevant archives.
Every service is subject to a prior, free, no-obligation quote, established from information provided by the Client. An order is only considered final once the Client has accepted the quote in writing and paid the deposit set out in Article 4.
Prices are stated in euros. A deposit of 30–50% of the total amount is required at the time of order to allow research to begin. The balance is due upon delivery of the complete file.
Accepted payment methods are specified at the time of quoting.
In accordance with Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a Client who is a consumer has a period of 14 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to give a reason.
To exercise this right, the Client must notify their decision in writing (email or letter) before this period expires.
Immediate start of service
If the Client wishes the research to begin before the 14-day withdrawal period expires, they must make an express, written request to that effect. In that case, should the Client nonetheless exercise their right of withdrawal after work has begun, they will be required to pay an amount corresponding to the service already provided up to the point they communicated their decision to withdraw, proportionate to the total agreed price of the service.
The Provider undertakes to conduct research rigorously and to inform the Client of any difficulty encountered (a missing source, an unresolved case of mistaken identity). The Provider is bound by a best-efforts obligation, not an obligation of result: the incomplete nature of certain archives may make it impossible to fully reconstruct a genealogical branch, without this constituting a breach of contract.
The Provider undertakes to keep information provided by the Client confidential (see the Privacy Policy).
The Client undertakes to provide starting information that is honest and as accurate as possible, and to respond within a reasonable time to any request for clarification from the Provider that is necessary for the proper conduct of the research.
Deliverables (family tree, copies of records, narrative booklet) are provided to the Client in digital form, by email or via a secure file-sharing space, unless otherwise agreed.
The narrative written by the Provider is transferred to the Client for personal and family use. Copies of public archive records remain subject to the free-reuse regime for public data, under the terms set by the relevant archive services.
The Provider cannot be held liable for the impossibility of finding information due to the loss, destruction or inaccessibility of archives, nor for delays resulting from the closure or slow processing times of public archive services.
In accordance with Article L616-1 of the French Consumer Code, a Client who is a consumer has the right to use a consumer mediation service free of charge to seek an amicable resolution to a dispute. The contact details of the competent mediator will be provided to the Client upon request.
These Terms of Sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt at amicable resolution, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
